Earned the ISO/IEC 27001 Lead Implementer certification, covering the international standard for information security management systems. This certification deepened my understanding of security governance, risk management, and compliance frameworks used by organizations worldwide.
Studied for and passed the CompTIA Security+ exam, building on my A+ and Network+ foundation with a deep dive into cybersecurity principles, threat analysis, cryptography, identity management, and risk mitigation — the natural next step after my systems administration internship.
Worked at Digital Cloak LLC with three other interns on an external network assessment, building a C2 server, and my personal phishing project using Evilginx2 and Gophish to harvest credentials in an ethical and regulated environment.
Delivered technical support to faculty and students at HPU's IT desk, diagnosing hardware, software, and network issues. Gained hands-on experience with the ServiceNow ticketing system and educated users on IT best practices.
Studied and passed the CompTIA Network+ exam in July 2024, earning a certification valid until July 2028. Built on my A+ knowledge by diving deeper into networking concepts, protocols, and troubleshooting.
After my first year of college I studied for and passed both CompTIA A+ Core 1 and Core 2 exams, earning a solid foundational certification in hardware, software, and IT support that motivated me to pursue further certifications.
Completed High Point University's Summer Advantage program after my senior year of high school to get ahead on college coursework and familiarize myself with a new environment before officially starting my degree.
After an entirely online junior year, I became a private swim coach teaching neighborhood kids to float, swim, and have fun in the water — a welcome change of pace that got me outside every day after months of remote learning.
During the pandemic summer I taught myself the basics of Python and C using W3Schools and YouTube. This was my first experience with programming and led directly to taking AP Computer Science Principles the following year.
Worked as a lifeguard at Chesterbrook Swim and Tennis Club — the same pool I'd swum competitively at my whole life. Probably my favorite job I've ever worked. Kept guard from May through August between freshman and sophomore year of high school.
Before starting high school I worked the front desk at my local pool, signing in patrons and helping manage daily tasks — all while still swimming competitively there. My second job ever.
My very first job — running the snack bar at the pool I spent every summer at as a competitive swimmer. It was the summer between 7th and 8th grade, and a great introduction to working with the public.
